The origins of Best Match Corporation trace back to 2007, when founder Garet Hil experienced firsthand the challenges of finding a compatible living donor for his daughter after she lost kidney function at age 10. Although a donor was ultimately found, that challenging experience highlighted the need for a more efficient, centralized system to connect donors and recipients nationwide. That vision led to the creation of the National Kidney Registry, which has since grown into the largest paired exchange program in the world and has facilitated more than 13,112 transplants.

Today, Best Match Corporation continues to build on its significant impact across the field of transplantation. The National Kidney Registry continues to advance living kidney donation through paired exchange, comprehensive Donor Shield support and protections, advanced matching technology, and programs designed to improve long-term transplant outcomes. The National Liver Registry was created to help increase access to living donor liver transplantation and expand opportunities for patients facing liver disease.
